The debate about the respectability of the French writer is anything but new. While some of his works included in the curriculum for nearly twenty years, the controversy seems to have kept all his force: Celine is the author on which the French love to rip into dinner parties.

As of 1952, the house of Antoine Gallimard remain its editor until the end of his life. This is the beginning of the comeback of Celine, who has repeatedly called for its entry in the prestigious Pleiade collection.
In the correspondence of the writer, exhumed and published in 2009 found as of October 24, 1965 letter to Gaston Gallimard, so that speech:
"The old men, you know, have their quirks. Mine are being published and edited in the Pleiade collection in your pocket ... I would constantly, twenty times that I ask. I do not refute that your Council, etc etc ... [...] You're the Decision. "
Celine will not succeed in his lifetime: the first Pleiades in his name in 1977. Nobody, even then, did not deny his talent he is recognized as a feather fundamental Heritage French literary. But the author has never ceased to annoy, including within its publishing house.
